Tainted Love

"I...I know...." Lennon said quietly. After a pause he added "I'm sorry..."

"It's okay honey," Sammy said gently.

"I don't mean for being scared just then..." Lennon almost whispered, staring at the floor nervously.

"What then?" Sammy asked gently.

"For...the other things..." Lennon said.

"You're a kid Lennon, kids make mistakes," said Sammy

Lennon stayed staring at the floor, frowning.

"Lennon, honey look at me," said Sammy.

Lennon hesitated for a few seconds before slowly looking up at Sammy.

Sammy took Lennon's hands into her own. "Honey, no matter what happens, no matter what you may do, I'm always gonna forgive you in the end, and I'm always gonna love you."

"R-Really...?" Lennon asked quietly, looking as if he didn't quite believe it.

Sammy nodded. "That's part of being a parent honey, a parent's love for their child is unconditional."

Lennon smiled, moving to hug Sammy.

Sammy smiled, hugging Lennon back. "Love you sweetie."

"Love you..." Lennon said quietly after a few seconds.

"This whole thing with Trevor," Sammy sighed. "I'm not trying to be mean Lennon, really I'm not, I just don't want to see you hurt....you're my baby, you know that."

"But I'm not a baby..." Lennon said, frowning. "And he won't hurt me..."

"Honey, I don't care if you're sixteen, or if you're 80," said Sammy. "You're always gonna be my baby."

"But I'm not a baby..." Lennon said, rolling his eyes.

"I know that Lennon," said Sammy. "but no matter how old you get, I'm still gonna remember you as the munchkin that got out of the car ran up and hugged me the first day you met me."

"Well you looked much nicer than that bitch..." Lennon smirked.

"Just, promise me you'll be careful," Sammy said. "Gimme that and I'll lay off, I promise."

Lennon nodded, running a hand through his hair. "Okay..." He said quietly.

"C'mon, let's go downstairs, I'll make us something to munch on, how's that sound?" Sammy asked

Lennon smiled and nodded. "When was it we last did that...?" He asked.
