I'm Gonna Love You Through It

Sammy tried to sit up, but didn't have the strength.

Adam gave a small smile, sitting on the floor so he could look at her properly.

Sammy started eating a small bag of chips, glancing at the spot next to her, then at Adam.

"Fine, I'll sit back up there..." Adam said, smiling as he moved.

Sammy gave a small smile. "Okay..."

Adam sat beside Sammy, watching her.

Sammy weakly moved closer.

Adam put an arm around Sammy, kissing her head.

"Have you thought about how we're gonna explain this to the boys?" Sammy asked

"Uh....no, not really..." Adam said, sighing.

Sammy sighed. "We have to figure it out."

Adam nodded. "Eventually..."

"Soon," said Sammy. "Before I get too sick."

"I know, just not right now." Adam said softly.

Sammy nodded, slowly closing her eyes.

Adam smiled softly as he watched her, running a hand through her hair.

Sammy drifted off just before the doctor came in to remove the IV

Adam didn't bother looking up at the doctor, watching Sammy as he stroked her hair.

"She's already scheduled her appointment for next week," said the doctor softly.

Adam nodded. "That usually helps..."

"Call me if anything goes wrong," said the doctor. "I'll see you next week."

"Sure," Adam said, slowly getting up. "See you." He gently picked up Sammy.

Sammy groaned softly at the movement and instinctively curled close.

"It's ok..." Adam said softly, trying not to move her around too much as he walked out to the car..

Sammy mumbled something about rabbits in her sleep, snoring softly.
