The Many Sides of a Sick Pretty Boy Frontman

Lennon brushed his hair back so he could see properly, pulling a face as he did so.

Adam was staring down at the paper absent mindedly.

Sammy sat all three plates and the coffee on the table. "There you go."

"Thank you mama." Lennon said, smiling up at Sammy.

Adam was still staring at nothing, not paying attention.

"Thank you momma," Monte smiled. Sammy nodded. "Welcome boys," she chuckled softly. "Adam, breakfast."

"Oh, thanks." Adam said, slowly picking up his coffee.

"You okay baby?" Sammy asked. "You're out of it today."

Adam gave a small nod. "I'm fine..." He said. "I just...I'm still tired..."

Sammy nodded. "If you say so."

Adam nodded again before having some of his coffee and starting on his food.

Sammy sat down with her own food. "There's a cake mix in the pantry, I should bake it."

Adam just shrugged his shoulders, continuing to slowly eat his food.

Monte looked up. "She said cake.....but he's not bouncing...."

Lennon looked up as well, frowning as he looked at Adam.

"What?" Adam asked once he was done eating. "I told you, I'm just tired." He said, getting up and taking his coffee with him as he headed to his office.

Monte shook his head. "Momma's right, he's sick."

Lennon shook his head as well. "He's not gonna say so..."

Adam went into his office, closing the door behind him. He put his coffee cup on the desk and sat down, laying his head on the desk.

"No he won't," said Sammy. "Stubborn nut."

Lennon chuckled a little at what Sammy called Adam. "He used to..." He said after a few seconds.

"Really?" Sammy said, surprised.

Lennon nodded. "Uh-huh, before she..." he said, trailing off.

"What did she do Lennon?" Sammy asked. "Your daddy won't tell me these things."

"He said not to talk about it..." Lennon mumbled.

"Lennon, listen to me," said Sammy, putting a hand on her son's shoulder. "If I'm gonna help your daddy get over what she's done, I need to know."

Lennon gave a small nod. "She...she..." He said nervously, running a hand trhough his hair.

"It's okay sweetie," Sammy said gently. "Take your time."

"Kay..." Lennon mumbled, taking a few deep breaths before continuing. "She...used to hurt him more...if he was sick..." He said quietly, his voice barely louder than a whisper.
