"Figured." Adam smirked, hugging Lennon close. "I swear this kid's a worse sleeper than I am after...certain things..." He said quietly, glancing up at Gabriel, who was shifting in his sleep.

"He woke up suddenly earlier," Adam said. "Only he stayed quiet...probably hoping I hadn't noticed..."

Sammy nodded. "We spoke of his parents briefly earlier," she said. "His mother anyway."

"He spoke of her in past tense," said Sammy. "but her wouldn't directly say she'd passed."

"Maybe that's why he was there...?" Adam muttered, thinking out loud.

"Oh..." Adam said quietly, grabbing Lennon's hands when he saw him going to scratch.

"Itchy..." Lennon pouted, curling up instead.

Gabriel shifted again before suddenly laying still, having woken up again. He laid there silently, trying to act as if he were still asleep.

Lennon pouted, folding his arms.

Gabriel slowly curled up, trying to be quiet.

Sammy slowly moved toward the bed. "Gabriel," she said softly. "I know you're awake, a person doesn't shift as much as you were and then go stiff for no reason, are you okay?"

Gabriel whimpered quietly, turning to face away from Sammy, curling up more.

"Shhhh, it's okay," said Sammy softly. "Believe me, this is one family that knows about sleep issues."

Adam made an irritated sound, rolling his eyes. "Unfortunately..." He muttered.

"It's nothing." Gabriel almost whispered.

"Well it is!" Gabriel suddenly snapped, hoping Sammy didn't pick up the sob afterwards that hinted he was crying.

Sammy sighed softly, sitting on the edge of the bed. She reached a hand out to rub Gabriel's back.

Gabriel froze, making a nervous sound, moving away from Sammy slightly.

"It's alright hun," said Sammy. "I won't hurt you," she told him, almost out of pure habit from saying it to Adam and the boys so many times.

Gabriel stayed where he was, accidentally letting out a frightened sob, both Lennon and Adam frowning when they heard it; Adam looking up at Sammy.
