Catch Me, I'm Falling

Lennon smiled, shifting uncomfortably before relaxing and drifting off.

Monte watched him sleep.

Lennon shifted in his sleep after a bit, his hand moving to scratch at his face.

Monte grabbed Lennon's hand.

Lennon jumped, whimpering in his sleep when he felt Monte grab his hand.

"Shhhh," said Monte. "It's just me Len, just me."

Lennon relaxed again at the familiar voice and curled up, pulling the blankets up higher.

Monte held Lennon close

Eventually Lennon started snoring softly, something he only did when he wasn't well, unlike Adam who snored anyway.

Monte frowned at the sound.

Lennon shifted in his sleep again, going to scratch before stopping an lying on his stoach instead, his hands under his head.

Monte continued to watch him.

Lennon started snoring quietly again.

Monte ran a hand through Lennon's hair.

Lennon relaxed at the touch, eventually falling into a deeper sleep, no longer snoring.

Monte smiled, drifting off soon after.

Early the next morning, Lennon jumped awake at the sound of the older boy, whose name he couldn't remember, screaming as he woke up from what Lennon assumed was a nightmare.

Sammy awoke to the sound as well, hurrying to check on Gabriel. She peaked around the door. "Gabriel, hun," she said gently, moving over to the bed. "What is it?"

Gabriel was sitting on his bed, curled up in the corner with his head in his hands and didn't answer, sobbing quietly instead.

Sammy sat down on the bed. "Gabriel, honey, c'mere."

Gabriel lifted his head to look at Sammy, hesitating for a minute before moving over to her.

Sammy wrapped her arms around him. "You relive it again?"

Gabriel nodded, putting his face back in his hands, leaning against Sammy.

"Shhhhh," Sammy soothed gently. "It's okay."

"No it's not, I hate it..." Gabriel muttered.
